While not exactly pertinent to our Library Steering Committee The International Committee of the Blue Shield (ICBS) area of this site will be of interest to any of you who were appalled by the destruction of the libraries and archives in Iraq.

Eugene Public Library , Eugene Oregon || Principles and Concepts from Community Workshops. This is a good site listing various design considerations. see the section Planning for Library Service towards the bottom of the page.
Memonomee Falls Wisconsin Library to reflect changes in lifestyles. This is a nice summary of what I think may be the feeling here about the changing role of the library in the community.
Gail Borden Public Library , Elgin Illinois: Building Highlights. This site also lists the facilities that were considered important in that community.
Austintown Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County, Ohio. This Library doesn't have a lot of extra features but it does have a café and check out the very cozy reading room .
Poland OH Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County, Ohio. This is a 36000 square ft. facility - similar in size to what was being considered for Belleville. A very nice traditional looking library that tastefully incorporated the old library. A site worth lingering over. Cost $6.8 million US. Bristol Public Library  Bristol VA/TN Features of the proposed new library. An additional 34,000 sq. ft. added to the existing 11,000 sq. ft. building.
Tigard  OR New  Library   Another west coast library. A community just a bit larger than Belleville.

 Some of the cities below are considerably larger than Belleville. However they do offer some ideas on features that can be considered here.
